I bring a combination of recruitment support, onboarding coordination, and people-focused operational skills. I have hands-on experience in assisting with initial training, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for new hires.
I am well-equipped with tools such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams for coordination, communication, and data management. I also have a foundational understanding of recruitment systems and am confident in quickly learning ATS platforms like Workday, SuccessFactors, or Greenhouse.

What steps has Rakesh taken to break into the sports industry?
Getting a master’s degree is something I am really proud of given where I come from. And I've completed my Level 1 coaching cert. Working as head coach for 2 years gave me immense satisfaction.
Rakesh's interest in sport all started from being involved in sport from a young age
Sports has always been my passion. This feels like a calling, and I don't want to work in a place where it's just to pay my bills and doesn't give me satisfaction. Being involved in sports (playing) taught me a lot, and I want to give it back to the community as much as I can. Now, as a professional working in the industry.

What sporting problem keeps Rakesh up at night, and how would you solve it?
More Fan engagement/ interactions with the players of all kinds of sport. I believe this will help/encourage and give a sense of direction for the younger generation to move forward in personal and professional life with positive attitude and courage.

What kind of environment do you thrive in?
A collaborative team environment is my first priority. It's a team working to deliver the results as well as individuals working to put their footmarks in the bigger picture. It's a two edge sowrd.
When have you had to show resilience in your life or career?
My resilience is built on a foundation of performing under pressure, both on the cricket field and in my personal life. A defining moment was when I had to balance the high stakes of a "must-win" qualifying match for my team while simultaneously managing the life-altering transition of moving from India to Australia.
On the field, I needed to stabilise a collapsing innings to reach the finals; I had to bat out the entire session to draw the match, scoring 0 off 55 balls; off the field, I had to ensure I remained 100% self-funded and focused on my Master’s degree without a local support network.
I applied the same "one ball at a time " mentality to my life. While I blocked out the crowd pressure to score the winning runs for my team, I applied that same discipline to my finances and studies in Melbourne, working long hours to fund my own education and living expenses.
I successfully put my team into the finals and, more importantly, successfully graduated from my Master's program as a self-made professional. These experiences taught me that whether I am facing a difficult bowler or a complex career transition, I have the "cool head" and work ethic to see the mission through to the end."

I play cricket (semi- professional), love music/movies and food. Working out at the gym to keep myself fit and healthy.
What is your favourite sporting moment?
India winning the 2007 World Cup T20.
What’s your ideal holiday?
Long drive with friends/family to a beautiful beach/trek and having a good time.
If you had 30 minutes to pick the brain of anyone, who would it be and why?
I would love to pick the brain of Roger Federer. I want to know how he regulated his emotions and heartbeat while playing such intense games with Rafa and Djokovic. How he trained and, most importantly, how he managed his personal life.
What’s one book or podcast that’s helped your career you recommend?
Shane Watson podcast on how to control your mind/how to stay present and control your breathing. Overall, control the controllables and concentrate on the process rather than the results.
