What separates me from others is you won’t ever get someone as honest, reliable, and respectful. I work really hard, and once I learn what I need to do, I go above and beyond to get tasks done.

What steps has Burhan taken to break into the sport industry?

  • I’ve taken practical steps that were volunteering in sport

  • studying a Sports Management degree

  • and trying to network on LinkedIn.

  • But, I found the SportsGrad Method program and jumped into it straight away, which I’m excited to start soon.

Burhan’s interest in sport all started when seeing the opportunities it can create.

I want to work in sports because I have experienced firsthand the positive impact it can have on individuals and communities, and I want to contribute to creating those same opportunities for others.

My love for sport has developed through playing, coaching, volunteering, and being involved in community clubs such as Quakers Hill Junior Soccer Club and Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Basketball Association.

This passion has led me to complete a Bachelor of Business (Sport Management) degree, undertake internships focused on sponsorship and operations, contribute to disability inclusion initiatives with Blacktown City Council, and gain hands-on event experience through projects such as the State of Origin Game 1 activation.

Where does Burhan want to go?

Next six-12 months

Next 5-10 years

The career goals I am working towards is finishing off my sports management degree which will be in early February.

I am looking at Volunteering positions in sport to further improve my CV out there for potential employers.

I am always in touch with sport as well so the love is never lost there.

I joined SportsGrad method cohort #5 this year to have a big impact on my goals

My long term career goals are working in Sports that’s for certain, and not just a single sport, any sport out there.

And I’m hoping to be in that same Company for a long time and get promoted with at the same time.

That will increase me in terms of credibility.

I would love to own a house one day with my wife, we are hoping in 2 years time if all goes well. So, that is why this is so incredibly important to me.

What sporting problem keeps Burhan up at night, and how would they solve it?

I’d love to solve the problem in the future of football in Australia.

  • In my life, I’ve had to demonstrate resilience by not listening to the outside noise. I used to get told, Burhan you are going to never graduate from Uni, you are never going to find a full time job. I had a lot of close people of mine doubt me when I was at my lowest, so I used that as fuel and determination to get where I am at right now. I believe me showing that resilience got me to today in this moment in time.I don’t give up, whatever life throws at me I dust myself off and keep pushing and I don’t lose my spark at the same time.
