What steps has Jade taken to break into the sport industry?
Expanding my professional network by attending networking events and connecting with industry professionals with the intention of learning more about the sports industry.
Jade’s interest in sport all started whilst watching local sport…
Whenever I travel through small country towns on the way to caravan parks and I see the same two spaces from the car window, a football field and a netball court. Whenever I watch a game, I'm amazed by how these spaces bring people together. Local football and netball games are more than just sport, they are the heart of a community, where people catch up, socialise, and connect. I watch volunteers help out and I begin to appreciate the dedication it takes to make these moments possible. I love learning about a club’s history and hearing the stories and people's memories. What truly makes me fall in love with sport is understanding the commitment of these volunteers who give up their time either once or for many years in a row and became part of a club's history. It makes me realise that I want to ensure that sporting spaces and facilities in small country towns are built and provide opportunities for growth, participation and connection.
