Sean’s interest in sport all started whilst growing up in Melbourne

What sporting problem keeps Sean up at night, and how would you solve it?
One problem I'd love to solve in sport is the connections between audiences and digital content. It has become increasingly prominent that media codes and organisations must find new relevant ways to connect with sporting audiences, specifically through social media and storytelling.
What is Sean like?
What kind of environment do you thrive in?
I thrive in fast-paced, whilst also team building environments. Having a supportive network and office is vital to both the organisation and morale of the team.
When have you had to show resilience in your life or career?
During 2020 (my final year of VCE), I was able to withstand the pressures of the pandemic and exceed in my studies. I was able to obtain the scores and required ATAR for entry into my journalism course, exceeding the minimum entry requirements. Furthermore, I endeavoured in my studies by tutoring my peers in subjects such as English and Media, in spite of remote learning. It is through such experiences that I was able to be resilient and push through strenuous periods.

What are your interests outside of work?
I love to gym, run, cook and learn new languages.
What is your favourite sporting moment?
My favourite sporting moment was watching Isaac Smith miss the goal against Geelong in the 2016 Qualifying Final.
What’s your ideal holiday?
My ideal holiday is on a tropical island with a drink in hand.
If you had 30 minutes to pick the brain of anyone, who would it be and why?
Christopher Nolan. The storytelling and precision he puts into each of his films is extremely compelling, and someone I'd love to learn more from.
What’s book or podcast that’s helped your career you recommend?
Reading 'Atomic Habits' helped me shape about how significant the small trajectories are in my career and life.
