Bachelor of Sports Media (University of Canberra), Certificate IV in Screen and Media (Animation and Visual Effects) (TAFE NSW), Implementing Digital Marketing Campaigns (RMIT).

What steps has Steven taken to break into the sports industry?
I am already part of the sports industry as a print journalist and video editor, but I am consciously trying to make the jump to broadcasting.
At the moment, I host and produce a sports show on community radio,
and I am regularly hitting up sports broadcasters for advice.
Steven wants to work in sport because…
I work in sports because sport is a key interest of mine and I enjoy working in something I am interested in. I have had jobs outside of sport and have been extremely bored, even when the money is good. I enjoy covering live events and experiencing the energy and excitement.

What sporting problem keeps Steven up at night, and how would you solve it?
In terms of my career? Getting on a solid track towards achieving my goals as a sports broadcaster. In terms of solving a sports issue generally? Helping rugby league grow on a global scale.

A creative environment, where people are honest. I appreciate feedback and encouragement.
When have you had to show resilience in your life or career?
When my mother passed away, I had to become the main person to organise family events and look after my loved ones to an extent. That was difficult for me, but I feel like I am coping.

'Go for No' by Andrea Waltz and Richard Fenton. It helped me overcome my fear of cold calling people.
